Whether you are beginning your journey as a direct care staff, foster parent or continuing your service to children and families, our online training courses are designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to provide safe, supportive, and nurturing care.
All required state trainings are accessible through the official state-approved training portals. Please complete each course, download and submit your certificates to hello@goldsocietysh.org
PRE-HIRE TRAININGS (Required Before Approval)
The following trainings must be completed prior to verification or placement approval:
CPR & First Aid Certification
Complete training on site at Gold Society. Certification must remain current.Emergency Behavior Interventions and De-escalation (EBI)
Complete training on site at Gold Society. Training focused on crisis prevention, behavior management strategies, and safe de-escalation techniques.- DFPS Psychotropic Medication Training (2 hours)
- DFPS Trauma-Informed Care (2 hours)
- DFPS Reporting Abuse and Neglect (1 hour)
- DFPS Medical Consent Training (2 ½ hours)
- DFPS Normalcy Training (2 hours)
- Recognizing and Reporting Sexual Abuse
- Runaway Prevention Training
- Texas Food Handler Certificate
REQUIRED DFPS ONLINE TRAININGS
(Please submit certificates after completion.)
ONGOING TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Every 6 Months
To remain in compliance, foster parents must complete:
- Refresher training in Emergency Behavior Interventions and De-escalation
- Any updated DFPS-required training
- CPR renewal (as required by certification expiration)
